Station Tower Demolition at Friargate Coventry
27th January 2016
The demolition of Station Tower, the final building to be cleared for the £100 million Friargate regeneration scheme in Coventry, has completed.
Demolition experts Armac have been carefully dismantling the 15 storey, from top to bottom, floor by floor, since October with the works completed last weekend.
The focus of Friargate will now be the delivery of the 37 acre scheme, which is set to create up to 15,000 jobs. The construction of the first building for Coventry City Council is well underway and the new public realm, which connects the station to the city centre, will open to the public within weeks. On Thursday 28 January, Coventry school pupils and officials will plant a time capsule at Friargate to mark the past, present and future of the city.
