Hednesford Retail Park, Staffordshire

Prosurv were appointed by St Modwen Developments to provide Employers Agent, Quantity Surveyor and CDMC services for the phased redevelopment of Hednesford Town Centre which included, two major retail anchors at each end of the existing Town Centre.

Phase 1 comprises the relocated bingo hall, the construction of 11 retail units in two retail terraces and the construction of a 15,000 sq. ft. food store.

Phase 2 comprises the construction of the new 86,500 sq.ft. Tesco food store, the construction of 36,000 sq. ft. of retail space, the construction of a new community facility and the relocated RFCA facility.

The scheme is part of the redevelopment of Hednesford Town Centre which commenced in 2010 with an overall budget of £24 million and has been gathering momentum since.

Prosurv’s experience in the retail sector and close relationship with the Client was key to ensuring that the phased works were delivered both on programme and within budget. The new Tesco food store was due to be open for Christmas trading in December 2012.

The Tesco food store was opened on 26 Novemeber 2012 successfully within the scheduled programme and budget.
