Fantastic bird's eye view of the New Covent Garden Market re-development
24th April 2017
These amazing aerial shots of the New Covent Garden Market site show the progress to date including the construction of a new multi-storey car park and welfare block plus the recently opened Interim Flower Market (IFM).
The images also show the existing Flower Market and the vast number of traders units which will be demolished and re-constructed during the multi-phased project.
The landmark ten-year project, led by 50/50 joint venture partners VINCI St. Modwen, together with Covent Garden Market Authority, will see the existing market facilities, which were built in 1974 and currently cover three separate sites, consolidated from 57 acres to a single 37 acre site with the remaining 20 acres being transformed into a mixed-use riverside development encompassing 3,000 new homes plus offices, retail and leisure facilities for the community.
